Performance at Swerve’s
This was a commissioned piece with some specific parameters. It had have characters from the ‘Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye’ comic, set in Swerve’s Bar, and it had to have front-man Jim Semonik (Rein-Forced, Red Lokust) in it. He’s a great friend and I’ve been hired to do many projects for him over the years. This painting was a Christmas gift given to him by his lady. This was a monumental challenge to do. Precision, recognizability, scale, and perspective were some of the hurdles I had to tackle. I’ve always wanted to a TF painting… so this was a nice practice piece. I can’t wait to do the next one.

King of the Mountain
Here’s a crazy idea… a painting where Freddy, Michael, Leatherface, and Jason duke it out to claim who is King of the Mountain. The idea came to me after hearing a lot of fan chatter at various horror conventions… who would win in a fight. Here’s that battle royale.

Bounty Hunters
I really really love this Star Wars universe inspired painting! All of the pieces came together for me to work on it. I opted out of doing the standard Bounty Hunter group pose… you know, the one where it looks like they’re in a boy band. “Hey girl, I’m Boba Fett.” Instead, I give you a menacing view… like you’ve been caught. You’re the bounty.

Vicious and Abnormal
This painting is a beautiful mash-up of The Monster and The Bride with Sid and Nancy. Both relationships doomed from the beginning.
In Deborah Spungen’s book, And I Don’t Want To Live This Life, she recounts her first impression of her daughter’s boyfriend, Sid Vicious, after seeing him for the first time on a television talk show…
“…Then the camera moved in on Sid. I couldn’t believe it. The newspaper photos hadn’t prepared me. He was extremely tall, pale, and cadaverous. With his drooping eye and malevolent expression, he had to be the creepiest-looking young man on the face of the earth. He looked like Frankenstein’s monster. My daughter was living with Frankenstein’s monster.”
Painting featured on Frankensteinia.

Ambasadora
I was hired by the amazing sci-fi writer, Heidi Ruby Miller, to paint the cover for the initial release of her premier novel, ‘Ambasadora’. Unfortunately for me, but awesome for her, her books have been picked up by a larger publisher and re-packaged… new covers. None by me. 🙁

Walker Tactics
Here’s a painting with a unique perspective. I always wanted to illustrate the Imperial Walkers, but I didn’t want to use the same few shots from The Empire Strikes Back film. I’ve since seen interpreted variations of my painting by other artists. Thanks, I guess?

Feathers and Fury
I love death and decay, especially when it’s animated… moving. Morbid thoughts fail to evade me and its influence on my creative process. Seen here, this invigorated bird began as a discovery of the skull and concluded with my mad scientist attempt to ‘nurse’ it back to life.

Rite for Life
Grabbing and tugging at their bodies, they continue to seduce him. Two ladies oh so sensuous in their time, now wrapped in gauze and stuffed with herbs. All that is heard is shuffling garments and the fluttering flakes of dust. Ra pays little attention to the devotion and display of affection that looms at his sides. Their motive, another chance at life, to be better than before.
